Are my membership fees tax-deductable? "Non-profit" status which allows for tax deductions is based on IRS Section 501(c)(3). The core of what we do is raise awareness for cat rescue and donate to rescue organizations. Because we partner with you to raise awareness and send you shirts, the IRS doesn't view these as qualifying donations, so your membership fee is not tax deductible. While we are not a 501(c)(3), we are transparent about the impact you'll have and all donations we make to rescue are sent to 501(c)(3) organizations. If you're like us, you're interested in making an impact, not looking for tax deductions.

This page presents a monthly Membership that support cat rescue. Cat Bandit sells tee shirts and helps rescue cats. We always donate for each tee shirt sent out, and each membership. Our mission is to raise awareness for cat rescue, and donate a portion of proceeds to our partner rescue organizations. Our advocacy efforts include creating cat merchandise which is sold to support cat rescue. Due to IRS regulations, such activities are not qualifying. However, we are fully transparent about the impact we are having and have appointed an independent firm to review our books and records and ensure proper accounting for all donations and that proceed are sent to help rescue cats. Our mission is to impact the lives of as many cats as possible, rather than chase a tax status.
